Learn about a financing facility and funding opportunities for Nature-Based Solutions

If you have a project focused on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) located in Córdoba, Huila or Santander (Colombia) and are looking for funding, you are invited to participate in a key event during COP 16 in Cali, Colombia. In the framework of the IKI project ‘Promoting Nature-Based Solutions for resilient, low carbon and biodiverse territorial development' (SolNatura) a call for proposals will be launched to co-finance this type of projects to be implemented in any of these three departments.

SolNatura is a project implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Fondo Acción. It is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and is funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The terms and conditions for accessing these resources will be shared during an event organized by Fondo Acción at the COP 16 Green Zone. Please find below, the event details:

• Name of the event: Launch of call for proposals to finance Nature-based Solutions in Cordoba, Santander and Huila.
• Venue of Event 1: Plazoleta del Samán, Cali Cultural Center, Green Zone.
• Day and time: Monday, October 28, from 9:00 to 11:00 am.

Facility to finance Nature-Based Solutions

In addition, during COP16 and within the framework of the IKI project SolNatura, a new financial facility will be launched to mobilize resources from different sources to help achieve Colombia's climate and biodiversity goals. Below are details of two relevant events in this context:

• Name of the event: Impact Private Equity Fund to finance the implementation of projects with a Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) approach.

• Venue of Event 1: Cali Chamber of Commerce, Multipurpose Room 1, Green Zone.
• Day and time: Monday, October 28, from 9:00 to 11:00 am.

• Venue of Event 2: Pabellón Conservación Internacional, Zona Azul.
• Day and time: Tuesday, October 29, 5:30 to 7:00
