The book, the first of its kind in the country, was developed by Fondo Acción (the implementing entity of the SF4B project in Colombia) and addresses the critical issue of financing the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.

“Finanzas y biodiversidad para territorios posibles” explores innovative financial mechanisms and strategies that can be used to support the protection of Colombia's biodiversity. These include blended finance schemes to improve the financing of biodiversity conservation, and a Nature Based Solution tool to support identify how initiatives or investments comply with international UICN standards. The book also includes a reflection on the role of Colombia's commercial banking sector in promoting biodiversity, and a proposal to improve financing and equitable benefits in biodiversity projects.

This comprehensive resource is expected to be a valuable tool for policy makers, conservation organizations, international cooperation agencies, companies, commercial banks, insurance companies, private or public investors and individuals committed to conserving Colombia's biodiversity. By providing practical guidance and fostering a deeper understanding of biodiversity finance, this book has the potential to open up new avenues for investment and action.
