The Colombian Caribbean and Pacific regions hold valuable ecosystems and biodiversity capable of boosting climate resilience and livelihoods. However, high poverty rates and limited opportunities hinder effective adaptive management for conservation and sustainable use to face climate change.
This project collaborates with communities and institutions to adaptively manage their strategic ecosystems by integrating instruments, new knowledge and economic opportunities for climate and biodiversity protection. This approach strengthens decision-making processes in multilevel governance schemes, enhances relevant information systems, enables access to financial mechanisms and promotes local green businesses. These efforts contribute to fulfilling Colombia's climate change and biodiversity goals.
