Entities and private sector in the territory contribute to update Colombia's NDC 3.0

On August 16 in Medellin and August 30 in Bogota, regional workshops were held as part of the NDC 3.0 update process. These workshops, led by the Climate Change and Risk Management Directorate of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (Minambiente), aim to increase the climate ambition of cities, departments and companies in the Colombian territory. This will be achieved by identifying adaptation and mitigation measures, as well as ways of implementation, led by local authorities and major private companies in the regions.

More than 200 participants representing territorial entities and the private sector participated in these two workshops, strengthening the capacities and knowledge of leading actors of the Regional Climate Change Nodes of Antioquia, North Pacific, Amazonas, Norandino and Central East Andean. In this way, they will be able to lead processes of postulation of adaptation and mitigation measures and means of implementation for Colombia's NDC 3.0. The series of workshops is developed with the support of the Interface Project, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), within the framework of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and in coordination with the World Resources Institute Colombia (WRI Colombia) in the framework of the CHAMP initiative thanks to Bloomberg Philanthropies.
