Rumbos Verdes, the new GGGI climate action podcast, developed with the support of the SPAR6C Colombia program and funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI), is now available.
This podcast makes the issues and concepts of green growth accessible, bringing the public closer to the pathways of climate action and cooperation. Its first season focuses on explaining, in clear language, carbon markets under Article 6 and brings together expert voices from Latin America and around the world to understand how emissions reductions are transferred between countries and the role of these mechanisms in the region’s climate goals. With Iván Darío Valencia, manager of the SPAR6C Colombia Program and former COP negotiator, and Felipe De León Denegri, former Costa Rican negotiator and AILAC member as special guests, the first episode focuses on explaining the three Article 6 mechanisms and how they emerged from the different visions and conditions of the countries during the climate negotiations. Through a chronicle, it also relives the moment when the San José Principles were conceived, a milestone in the history of Article 6.
Rumbos Verdes is available on Spotify and YouTube, and is part of SPAR6C’s efforts to build capacity in countries like Colombia to participate in carbon markets with environmental integrity and real benefits.
