When do we seek to repair what has been damaged? When do we decide to make amends? Paola, Raquel and Jeison live in the rural area of the municipality of Calamar in Guaviare, one of the departments that is part of the Colombian Amazon and which is the main region of the country where the highest levels of deforestation are located in 2024, with 77,124 deforested hectares compared to those affected nationally, which correspond to 113,608 hectares, according to the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam). From this place, these three people tell us their story of restoration in the Amazon together with Juan Francisco García, WWF’s Ecological Restoration Specialist.
