As part of the SolNatura project, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of the Environment (BMUV) through the International Climate Protection Initiative (IKI), the call for proposals is now open to co-finance 24 Nature-based Solutions (NBS) projects in the departments of Córdoba, Huila and Santander. These projects seek not only to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and consolidate conservation areas, but also to strengthen the resilience of communities and local biodiversity in the face of climate change.

Projects must address three key areas: adaptation to the impacts of climate change, mitigation of emissions and biodiversity conservation. With this call, it is expected:

  • Improve the resilience of 20,000 people to climate change.
  • Protect and restore 20,000 hectares of terrestrial, freshwater and coastal ecosystems.
  • Avoid or capture 300,000 tons of CO2 equivalent, thus contributing to a more sustainable planet.

Key dates of the call:

  • Opening: October 28, 2024
  • Closing date for receipt of profiles: March 31, 2025
