Today there are multiple efforts to stop deforestation in the Colombian Amazon and these conservation exercises raise important questions: how is the forest really cared for, who is doing it, how to translate the complexity of their actions into stories that inspire people to know it, use it sustainably and protect it?
From these questions comes Bosques que dan vida, a series of podcasts developed within the framework of the ProBosques II project, which seeks to bring the public closer to the realities, lessons learned and opportunities for forest management from Caquetá, Guaviare and Meta.
Throughout six episodes, the series covers central themes such as sustainable productive landscapes, forest extension, biodiversity, governance, forest value chains and the link between gender, environment and peace building. In addition, in Bosques que dan vida, voices from the Amazonian context converse with advisors from the ProBosques II project, forming a nourishing dialogue between local experiences and knowledge and technical know-how.
The production process is also a bet to connect with the Amazon forests, as the series has an original musicalization inspired by the sounds of the eastern plains and the Amazon, integrating elements of these regions and the song of an Uirapuru, a bird characteristic of the Amazon forests, which accompanies with its song and gives identity to the sound narrative.
Designed for all audiences, this podcast is an invitation to listen, learn and reflect on the role we all play in the conservation of Colombia’s forests.
