German cooperation, through various projects, was part of different events of the Biodiversity Week in Cali, a meeting of interdisciplinary actors that aimed to promote actions for biodiversity conservation and innovative solutions to major global environmental challenges. These were some of the events supported by Germany:
- National Summit of Women Caregivers of Biodiversity, a scenario of recognition, visibility and strengthening of the role of women in the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
- ExpoBosques, a space for face-to-face meetings that connected communities, institutions, the private sector and academia around biodiversity, forests and the goods and services derived from them.
- Launch of the “Pact for the Circular Economy”, an alliance between the private sector, academia and the Mayor’s Office of Cali.
- Seminar “We are climate: data and transformative decisions with a gender focus”, a space for dialogue on how to integrate gender equity in climate transparency and strengthen climate action with data and evidence.
- International cooperation panel, a space for strategic dialogue between international organizations and national actors to identify synergies, challenges and opportunities for cooperation.
- Socialization and Accelerated Implementation of Colombia’s Biodiversity Action Plan 2030, a space led by the Ministry of Environment to socialize Colombia’s Biodiversity Action Plan 2030.
- Climate Talk “Biodiversity and Environmental Governance: Challenges and Opportunities in the Farallones de Cali National Natural Park”, which addressed water security and post-mining restoration, as well as legal economic alternatives and social co-responsibility in this emblematic National Park near Cali.
- Workshop “Living networks of knowledge for biodiversity” in which three thematic axes were worked on: communications, knowledge management and innovation, placing nature at the center of the conversation.
