In the framework of Conversapolis 2025, on September 10th in Bogota, the Partnership led the panel “Cities with a green pulse: when nature drives mobility, energy and urban life”. This was a meeting to think about the value of nature-based solutions as key instruments for urban design and management, highlighting their applicability in sectors such as transportation, energy, circular economy and climate finance.
The panel had interventions by Alexandra Arévalo, leader of the national strategy for nature-based solutions of the National Planning Department, Mario Andrés Murcia López, coordinator of the community of practice of nature-based solutions of ANDI, Janina Heim, environmental counselor of the German Embassy and the moderation of Carlos Cadena, associate professor at the EAFIT University.
The conclusions highlighted that nature-based solutions and community-based solutions are strategic tools to address environmental and urban crises, provided they are backed by strong institutions, long-term vision and external validation. Likewise, genuine community participation ensures legitimacy and social ownership, and local initiatives can scale up and become seeds of regional and national transformation. Finally, the relevance of cooperation between the public, private, academic and international sectors was highlighted to ensure impact and sustainability.
Conversápolis is a platform for dialogue that promotes the exchange and management of knowledge, experiences and opportunities for cooperation around sustainable urban development in Colombia. This year it held its fourth edition.
