From July 1-3, 2025, Cali hosted the Regenerators Summit, a regional meeting that brought together more than 500 on-site and virtual participants to accelerate the transition to regenerative agriculture and livestock farming in Latin America. The event brought together more than 60 experts from various sectors (public, private, financial, academic, civil and productive) around a common goal: to transform agri-food systems into engines of ecological regeneration, social resilience and sustainable economic value.
This meeting was organized by Future Landscapes, under the leadership of The Nature Conservancy and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research, in consortium with Nestlé and with the support of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN), through the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
During the first two days, it offered a diverse agenda of keynote lectures, multi-sector panels, thematic workshops and networking spaces. The third day was dedicated to three field trips to emblematic cases of regeneration in the Colombian Valle del Cauca, allowing attendees to learn first-hand about successful experiences of productive transformation and landscape restoration.
The Regenerators Summit addressed five main themes: reimagining agriculture, regenerative economies, transformation of farms and landscapes, co-creation of knowledge and regenerative public policies. This event has established itself as a key space for collaboration, innovation and collective action to build a regenerative future in the region.
