On September 30th and October 1st in Bogota, and on October 3rd in Cali, a new edition of Climate Finance was held, led by the National Planning Department – DNP, and German cooperation was part of this conversation with projects that work to support the mobilization of resources for biodiversity, adaptation, just energy transition, climate resilience and sustainability.
Martina Klumpp, German Ambassador to Colombia, participated in the panel “Financial bridges for climate action”, in which she highlighted the importance of making better use of climate funds and expanding financial sources and instruments.
Likewise, Esther Gravenkötter, KfW’s office manager in Colombia, was part of the panel “Innovation to transform: new frontiers”; one of her main messages was that climate and biodiversity projects need an initial boost from the public sector so that the private sector and communities can develop sustainable models.
Within the framework of this event, the II Cycle of Business Impulse, led by the DNP and supported by the Euroclima Program, financed by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development – BMZ, was also successfully carried out. There were 154 business meetings between 36 companies (climate projects) and various financiers, as a result of which a hundred real financing opportunities were identified in the short, medium and long term.
