CERFER, the Regional Renewable Energy Training Center, continues to consolidate its position as a national benchmark in education and training for the energy transition. During this first period of the year 2026, the project strengthened its strategic bases and advanced in the development of new alliances, contents and tools to expand its impact in Colombia.
CERFER’s objective is to promote a modular, flexible and practice-oriented educational model that empowers professionals, companies, communities and educational institutions to contribute to a just and territorial energy transition.
The main advances include the revision and updating of key products of the project, such as the needs analysis of the photovoltaic sector, with information on required capacities, as well as general analyses related, among others, to the bioenergy and hydrogen sectors. The catalog of courses and offers for specialized technical training and awareness-raising in renewable energies was also developed.
In addition, a comparative document of international training institutes in renewable energies was prepared, which has served as a reference for the strengthening and strategic development of CERFER. In this context, the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Germany and Colombia, together with the accompaniment of actors from both governments, makes CERFER a bridge between Colombian talent and German experience in renewable energies, promoting a network of collaboration between companies, governments, communities and experts committed to the development of capacities for the energy transition.
In parallel, CERFER strengthened its relationship with key actors in the energy sector, academia and civil society, expanding its network of allies through a MoU and new cooperation talks. These include companies in the energy sector, educational institutions, territorial initiatives and actors linked to the energy transition and technical training.
A new meeting of CERFER’s Advisory Council was also held, with the participation of Colombian and German representatives of leading companies, educational institutions, cooperation actors and communities, consolidating a strategic space for dialogue and exchange for the development of the center.
